Caston Coffee Table
“Intersecting Planes, Refined Materials”
Caston reimagines the coffee table as a sculptural interplay of rich walnut and industrial strength. Its gently rounded, book-matched walnut veneer top seems to float above a trio of supporting volumes—each engineered from a marriage of marble, carbon steel, and layered woods.
One plane of honed marble lends natural veining and cool heft, while a slender carbon-steel panel, its patina brushed to a subtle matte, cuts a graphic line beneath the tabletop. Opposite, a solid walnut block—sanded smooth to amplify its grain—anchors the form with reassuring warmth. Concealed within, high-density MDF and plywood cores ensure structural integrity and prevent warping over time.
Viewed from any angle, Caston’s mix of materials creates a dynamic tension: the organic curves of walnut against the crisp geometry of steel and stone. It’s equally poised as the centerpiece of a minimalist loft or as a contrasting accent in an eclectic living room, offering both functional surface and gallery-worthy presence.
